Customer Support Specialist

Description

Rival Systems is a technology company specializing in building advanced trading and risk management systems for professionals in the trading industry.  Our team has been working directly with traders over the past 12 years to build Rival’s technology - the most advanced multi-asset trading and risk management platform available.  Rival Systems is looking for a Customer Support Specialist to drive the company’s client onboarding and education initiatives as it emerges as a leader in the Chicago trading industry. Responsibilities

  • Obtain a comprehensive knowledge of Rival’s proprietary trading and risk applications
  • Responsible for installing, onboarding, and training new trading clients
  • Investigate trades in question by parsing data from exchange fixed logs
  • Perform Linux Server monitoring and gain familiarity with command lines
  • Act as escalation contact providing remote and onsite support to troubleshoot and resolve end user technology issues
  • Work with senior systems administrators to test, debug, and deploy infrastructure
  • Work with internal development groups to support development initiatives
  • Document and prioritize user requests and provide end users with updates and timelines for completion
  • Coordinate option settlement procedures with end users and run settlement process

Quantitative Developer

Description

Rival Systems is a technology company specializing in building advanced trading and risk management systems for professionals in the trading industry.  Our team has been working directly with traders over the past 12 years to build Rival - the most advanced multi-asset trading and risk management platform available.  Rival Systems is looking to hire a Quantitative Developer with workable knowledge of C++ systems design and development.  The individual will work closely with other quant and application developers to build and maintain models our trading and risk management systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement pricing models, volatility surfaces, and predictive models for algorithmic trading.
  • Conduct research, analyze, and present discoveries in a professional format.
  • Work closely with the traders to understand business requirements, design efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Work closely with Client Support Specialists to help support traders.
  • Create and maintain up to date work plans, followed by communicating status to Project Manager.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires Master’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science or related advanced degree in quantitative fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years development experience with C++ in a Windows environment.
  • Previous experience in financial industry a must.
  • Artificial intelligence experience desired.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and design.
  • Understanding of financial models, statistical analysis, and/or simulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, dynamic trading environment.
  • Ability to be comfortable working independently.

Sales Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to assist us with our growth and expansion.  This role will work directly in the Rival Sales team servicing prospects and will report directly to the EVP of Global Sales.  The position is located at Rival’s office in Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain comprehensive knowledge of Rival’s proprietary trading and risk applications
  • Provide support for scheduled in-person and/or phone meetings with prospects (remote or on-site)
  • Perform excellent product demos for Rival Trader and Rival Risk
  • Responsible for investigating and understanding prospects’ client software, hardware and networking needs
  • Strategize and assist Rival Sales members with opportunities and help draft proposals and RFP responses
  • Contribute to achieving the overall Rival Sales goals for customer acquisition and revenue on a monthly and annual basis
  • High daily utilization and data input into Salesforce.com to maximize communication flow with Rival Sales and Executive management
  • Responsible in assisting the onboarding of new clients (if necessary)
  • Responsible for responding to all prospect requests with Rival Sales team in an expeditious manner
  • Represent Rival with high professional standard and deep preparation for meetings and events

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Sales or as a Sales Engineer in a consultative sales environment within a technology company
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the trading industry
  • Knowledge of options trading, exchanges, clearing processes, networking and hardware/hosting within the trading industry
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills to perceive needs of others
  • Experience in large contract proposals and negotiations
  • Self-motivated to meet deadlines with proven track record of goals
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Fervent desire to document processes and procedures
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license
