Applications Developer

Description

Rival is seeking to hire an Applications Developer to be a member of a development team charged with developing, implementing, and testing trading applications.  The ideal candidate will have experience in systems design, programming and integration of high-volume, high-availability applications.  This position will be located in our Chicago, Illinois office.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior development team members to understand business requirements and design efficient and scalable desktop solutions based on technical expertise and experience
  • Develop, test, deploy and maintain applications and modules
  • Assist in creating and maintain up-to-date work plans
  • Keep pace with new technologies, directions and the latest industry trends
  • Follow firm and industry standards, procedures and methodologies for development of efficient application systems (i.e. design, design reviews, architect reviews and code reviews)
  • Perform related duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of C#, C++, HTML5/Javascript development experience in a Windows or Linux-based environment.
  • Experience working on real time, multithreading applications preferred
  • Experience with end user GUI design and implementation with solid software development and debugging experience a plus
  • Understanding of large-scale system design and implementation with solid software development and project management methodology experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and design
  • Strong commitment to working collaboratively in a team and being held accountable for achieving business goals
  • Ability to successfully work in a high-pressure, dynamic trading environment
  • Good team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Customer Support Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Quickly obtain a comprehensive knowledge of Rival’s proprietary trading and risk applications.
  • Act as escalation point providing remote and onsite support to troubleshoot and resolve end user technology issues.
  • Responsible for installing, onboarding, and training new trading groups.
  • Document and prioritize user requests and provide end users with updates and timelines for completion.
  • Perform Linux Server monitoring and gain familiarity with command lines.
  • Work with senior systems administrators to test, debug, and deploy infrastructure.

Requirements

Marketing Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Create and disseminate email campaigns/blasts and quarterly newsletter to new, existing and potential clients.
  • Create and maintain all social media, including company website, blog, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction interviews and manage feedback.
  • Generate all digital and physical advertising, including banner ads and business editorials.
  • Automate marketing capabilities by leveraging Salesforce and Pardot.
  • Generate monthly performance reports to track key metrics.
  • Plan and execute various events including, but not limited to, thought leadership panel discussions, webinars, and podcasts on a quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate all out of office events, such as Roadshow and Media Tours, as needed.
  • Handle all public relations internally and externally.
  • Respond to all press requests with the guidance of the CEO.
  • Liaise with marketing firm for graphic design for collateral and website content.
  • Receive and examine RFP’s from vendors. Perform CBAs in order to remain cost-conscientious.
  • Leverage internal and external relationships and maintain brand consistency and standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new employees as needed, including advertising job opportunities and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Perform related duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of Marketing experience supporting corporate office in administrative capacity
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, HTML 5, Wordpress and Adobe Acrobat Professional required
  • Previous experience working with both portal and content management systems preferred

Sales Engineer

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to assist us with our growth and expansion.  This role will work directly in the Rival Sales team servicing prospects and will report directly to the EVP of Global Sales.  The position is located at Rival’s office in Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain comprehensive knowledge of Rival’s proprietary trading and risk applications
  • Provide support for scheduled in-person and/or phone meetings with prospects (remote or on-site)
  • Perform excellent product demos for Rival Trader and Rival Risk
  • Responsible for investigating and understanding prospects’ client software, hardware and networking needs
  • Strategize and assist Rival Sales members with opportunities and help draft proposals and RFP responses
  • Contribute to achieving the overall Rival Sales goals for customer acquisition and revenue on a monthly and annual basis
  • High daily utilization and data input into Salesforce.com to maximize communication flow with Rival Sales and Executive management
  • Responsible in assisting the onboarding of new clients (if necessary)
  • Responsible for responding to all prospect requests with Rival Sales team in an expeditious manner
  • Represent Rival with high professional standard and deep preparation for meetings and events

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Sales or as a Sales Engineer in a consultative sales environment within a technology company
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the trading industry
  • Knowledge of options trading, exchanges, clearing processes, networking and hardware/hosting within the trading industry
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills to perceive needs of others
  • Experience in large contract proposals and negotiations
  • Self-motivated to meet deadlines with proven track record of goals
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Fervent desire to document processes and procedures
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license
